Home Theater Master and Servant
Any number times one is that same number, right? So, with one each of a television, receiver, CD changer, VCR, and DVD player, that tallies up a total of five (5) remote controls. Yet, look around my living room and how many do you see out, in use? One.
Universal remotes are indeed a good thing, and they're even better when they're programmable; as opposed to that pre-programmed crap that some manufacturers try to get away with; great so long as all your components are of the same brand, but, really, how often does that happen? Let's see, where was I?
Yes, one remote control, an MX-1000 Home Theater Master, handles control duties for all components in my home theater.This little jewel was picked up on clearance from Bjorn's for a song and is the most awesomest remote I've used yet. True, it's no Pronto, but it was also 1/4 the price of a Pronto, and with the ability to customize menus via PC, as well as back up stored data, it works just fine by me, and light years beyond the Marantz model I used previously. I just wonder if Elmo would have liked this one as much... >>
