Denon AVR-2803Not to Be Confused with the Yogurt
I've had four surround receivers since beginning the foray into home theater little more than a decade ago. The first is still in use on my computer, the second was sold to make room for my third, which gave up the ghost right before the Kill Bill viewing in April.

So here sits the fourth, a Denon AVR-2803 surround receiver. While not Denon's flagship or anything close to it, it packs one helluva punch -- and loads of features to boot:

  • 150x6 amplifier
  • Dolby Digital EX & DTS-ES/Neo:6
  • Multiple, input-assignable digital inputs & outputs
  • Component & S-video input/output with S-video conversion
  • Jog dials for selecting & controlling sources
  • Programmable remote control
The AVR-2803 also supports a second zone, which would allow me to wire it to other audio components in other rooms...were my house really that big. But, it's not, so the second zone will be configured to support a rear surround channel. Now let's look at what feeds this monster. >>
