A Nook in the TrunkThe Sub, Dude
Change can be a good thing, but in the world of car audio, there is one constant that I've yet to see change: Orion makes the most rockin' and rock-solid subwoofers, period; Orion can really belt 'em out.

My first Orion sub belonged to the Cobalt series, back when I didn't make much money but knew what sounded good. Since then, the series of Orion subwoofer I use has gone up to the XTR SVC (Xtreme Single Voice Coil) series, but has gone down in size and, subsequently, space; I've been running a 10" XTR-10 SVC for a little over five years in probably one of the best sounding, not to mention compact, boxes I've ever built. Of course, the best sounding box I've ever built is the "chimney" box, but band-pass enclosures take up an awful lot of trunk real estate, and, especially since getting back into cycling, that is not something I am willing to give up. Maybe when I get my wagon...

The process of building the enclosure was fairly simple, and is outlined in greater detail in the installation section, along with how the rest of the system was built. But before looking at any of that, let's take a look at the wiring. >>
